On October 7, 2017, one-month-old Toriella Turpin was found unresponsive in her home in the South Shore neighborhood of Chicago. Emergency responders were called to the 6700 block of South East End Avenue at around 6 a.m., where they discovered the infant in critical condition. Toriella was rushed to Comer Children's Hospital, but tragically she was pronounced dead shortly before 7 a.m. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy and ruled her death a homicide, citing blunt fo ...
