On July 30, 2023, a fatal road rage incident occurred on Chicago's Near South Side, resulting in the death of 37-year-old Nancy Padilla. The incident happened in the 2200 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive around 8:10 p.m. when a 2015 Nissan sedan cut off the vehicle Padilla was in, which was driven by a 26-year-old man.
