On December 24, 2023, at approximately 3:30 a.m., 43-year-old Laneshia Shanay Soward Bledsoe was fatally shot during a carjacking outside her residence in the Whitehaven neighborhood of Memphis, Tennessee. Responding officers found her with multiple gunshot wounds; she was transported to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
