Barrington Moore, a 31-year-old male, was fatally shot in Nashville, Tennessee, on the evening of Thursday, April 18, 2024. Moore had gone to a short-term rental property on Youngs Lane to pick up his 15-year-old cousin, Darrin Fleming. The teenager was attending a birthday party and was on juvenile court probation with a curfew of 8 p.m. Moore arrived at the location shortly after 9 p.m. to take Fleming home.
Upon his arrival, Moore located Fleming hiding in a closet, which led to a physical altercation between the two. During the fight, Fleming reportedly fired a pistol, striking Moore. Emergency services transported Moore to Skyline Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Following the incident, Darrin Fleming was taken into custody and subsequently admitted to firing the weapon during the confrontation with his cousin. He was arrested and charged with criminal homicide. Fleming was then booked into juvenile detention. The case has highlighted the issue of gun violence involving youth in the Nashville community.
