On April 26, 2024, 54-year-old Corey D. Baerns was fatally shot at his residence on Pryor Road in Maryville, Tennessee. Blount County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene around 10:30 PM and discovered Baerns outside the home with a gunshot wound. Despite their attempts to save his life, Baerns was pronounced dead at the hospital.
