In a tragic event that unfolded in Maryville, Tennessee, 8-year-old Clark Riley Reagan, a male, lost his life on June 10, 2019. The devastating incident was determined by authorities to be a murder-suicide orchestrated by his father, 38-year-old James 'Jimmy' Reagan.
The heartbreaking discovery was made on a Monday morning when emergency services responded to a fire at a condominium in the Savannah Village community.
A home inspector, who was at the property for a pending sale, noticed smoke and the sound of a smoke alarm, prompting a 911 call. Firefighters forcibly entered the locked residence and found a small fire in a bedroom, where they also detected a strong smell of gasoline.
Inside the bedroom, they found both Clark and his father in a bed, each with gunshot wounds. Both were transported to local hospitals. Jimmy Reagan was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, while Clark succumbed to his injuries around noon at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. The official cause of death for both was determined to be the gunshot wounds.
At the time of the incident, Clark's parents were separated. His mother, Miranda Reagan, had filed for divorce earlier in the year. Court filings revealed her concerns about her husband's potential misuse of medication.
