On the night of April 30, 2024, at approximately 11:40 p.m., Knoxville Police Department (KPD) officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1800 block of Prospect Place, located in the Morningside area of Knoxville, Tennessee. Upon arrival, they discovered 24-year-old Zackery Schwaller lying on the ground with at least one gunshot wound. Emergency medical services transported Schwaller to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
