In the early evening of a Tuesday in Pittsburgh's Allentown neighborhood, the life of 15-year-old TreSean Jackson was tragically cut short. On February 7, 2023, police responded to a ShotSpotter alert around 5:10 p.m. in the 200 block of Beltzhoover Avenue. There, in the area of Loyal Way and Harcourt Way, they found the young male with a gunshot wound to his chest.
First responders rushed him to a local hospital in critical condition, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
TreSean was a ninth-grade student at Pittsburgh Carrick High School, where he was remembered as a quiet leader who cared deeply for his friends and family. His teachers described him as a student who was always willing to contribute in class and worked well with his classmates. The school community mourned the sudden and tragic loss of a young life.
The investigation into TreSean's death revealed a complex and somber narrative. According to court documents that emerged later, a 16-year-old, Maurice Morgan, allegedly gave TreSean a gun on that fateful day. The two reportedly had plans to rob someone.
