Juwan Jordan, an 18-year-old high school senior, was shot and killed on the night of May 3, 2017, in the Sheraden neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The shooting occurred at the intersection of Allendale Street and Chartiers Avenue, near Langley K-8 School, around 11:30 p.m. Neighbors reported hearing between 12 and 14 gunshots from what seemed to be two different firearms. Jordan was transported to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 1:30 a.m.
on May 4th.
Jordan was a student at the Pittsburgh Student Achievement Center and was preparing to graduate in the spring. He was also a member of the Pittsburgh Westinghouse boys' basketball team and was well-liked by both students and staff. His family expressed deep grief, with his uncle stating they were seeking closure and answers about why Juwan was in the area and what led to his tragic death. The police investigation is still ongoing, and they have urged anyone with information to contact Pittsburgh Bureau of Police detectives.
