On the evening of Thursday, April 20, 2023, the life of Devon Liddell, a 26-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short in the Elliott neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Responding to a ShotSpotter alert just before 7 p.m., police discovered Liddell inside a home on the 900 block of Wilhelm Street. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics. The initial investigation suggested that the shooting may have stemmed from a dispute.
