On March 1, 2023, a violent altercation in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, tragically cut short the life of 22-year-old Jerred 'Jay' Duncan. The incident, which unfolded near the 50 building of Crawford Village, was one of two separate fatal shootings that shook the city on the same day.
Authorities reported that a dispute between Duncan and 30-year-old Jordan Eubanks escalated into gunfire. In the ensuing chaos, both Duncan and Eubanks sustained fatal injuries.
Duncan was pronounced dead at the scene, while Eubanks was transported to a hospital where he later died from a gunshot wound to the chest. A third individual, an 18-year-old male, was also shot in the leg during the confrontation and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators determined that the exchange of gunfire involved Eubanks, the injured teenager, and the teenager's father. Despite the identification of the individuals who discharged their weapons, official reports have not clarified if any charges have been filed in direct connection with Jerred Duncan's death.
That same day, another homicide occurred in McKeesport on Versailles Avenue, where 47-year-old Robert Joyner was fatally shot. While an arrest was made in Joyner's case, with 18-year-old Sanchez Spence facing a criminal homicide charge, law enforcement officials have stated that the two shootings were unrelated incidents. The investigation into the violent encounter that resulted in the deaths of Jerred Duncan and Jordan Eubanks continues.
