On the evening of March 2, 2023, in Eau Claire Borough, Butler County, Pennsylvania, 28-year-old Seth Thomas Gooden-Smith was fatally shot multiple times inside a residence on East Main Street. The suspect, 22-year-old Dakota Hughes, was present at the scene when Pennsylvania State Police arrived and was subsequently taken into custody without incident.
