On March 25, 2023, 22-year-old Anthony D. Byrd Jr. of Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, was fatally shot by his younger brother, 18-year-old Amir Byrd, following a heated argument over a basketball game. The incident occurred at their residence on the 2400 block of Cedar Lane in Upper Darby. Earlier that day, the brothers had played a basketball game at the Haverford YMCA, where Anthony's taunting after the game escalated tensions between them.
