On April 19, 2023, 19-year-old Tahmir "SBM" Hightower was fatally shot in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred around 10:40 p.m. on the 4900 block of Olive Street in West Philadelphia, near a vacant lot. Police officers responding to the scene found Hightower suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
