In the Fairhill neighborhood of Philadelphia, on the 600 block of West Clearfield Street, a young man's life was cut short in a burst of gunfire. Adam Delgado, a 20-year-old Black male, was shot multiple times in his torso and head on the afternoon of November 4, 2020. The violence of the act was stark, leaving Delgado critically wounded.
Rushed to the nearby Temple University Hospital, medical professionals fought to save his life, but his injuries proved too severe.
Later that same afternoon, Adam Delgado succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead. The city was in the midst of a significant increase in homicides, a grim tally that would surpass 400 for the first time in over a decade, and Delgado became another victim of this rising tide of gun violence.
In the wake of the shooting, the Philadelphia Police Department launched an investigation into the murder. Despite their efforts, as of early 2026, no arrests have been made in connection with Adam Delgado's death, and the case remains unsolved. Detectives have urged anyone with information to come forward, but the individuals responsible for the fatal shooting have yet to be brought to justice. The community continues to hope for a resolution as his case is remembered as one of the many unsolved homicides that have impacted the city.
