On the evening of May 16, 2023, at approximately 9:50 p.m., Philadelphia police responded to reports of a person with a gun along the 600 block of North Preston Street in West Philadelphia. Upon arrival, officers discovered 20-year-old Kameir Scott lying in a vacant lot, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Scott was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:12 p.m.
