On the evening of May 30, 2023, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, 8-year-old Jesús Pérez-Salome and his 9-year-old brother, Sebastián, were playing with kittens in their backyard when they were tragically killed by gunfire. A third victim, 19-year-old Joshua Lugo-Pérez, who resided in the same household but was not related to the brothers, was also fatally shot. A 33-year-old neighbor, Luis Cancel, was injured by a stray bullet and underwent surgery; he is expected to recover.
