On June 11, 2023, Pennsylvania State Police responded to a residence on Route 35 South in Tuscarora Township, Juniata County, where they discovered the bodies of 90-year-old John S. Burdge and 78-year-old Gloria B. Hardy. The timeframe of their deaths is believed to be between the late hours of June 10 and just before the police were notified on June 11.
