In the East Germantown section of Philadelphia, on what should have been a joyous celebration of his 12th birthday, Laron 'L.J.' Williams Jr., a 12-year-old Black male, was tragically killed. On the afternoon of June 22, 2023, the young boy, known for his big personality and as a jokester, had just left a neighbor's house where he had gone to get lunch.
