On the night of August 21, 2023, at approximately 10:40 p.m., Philadelphia Police officers responded to a shooting incident on the 1500 block of North 61st Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 20-year-old Ziyir K. Wright suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers immediately transported him to Lankenau Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. Despite the medical team's efforts, Ziyir succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on August 22, 2023.
