On November 22, 2023, at approximately 5:30 a.m., Philadelphia police responded to reports of a person with a gun near the intersection of North 7th and West Norris streets in North Philadelphia. Upon arrival, officers discovered 42-year-old Laura Abrams lying unresponsive on the sidewalk adjacent to a church, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
