On the night of March 1, 2024, at approximately 11:20 p.m., 25-year-old David Anthony Utley-Ralph was fatally shot outside the Hard Rock Cafe on West Station Square Drive in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. First responders found him with gunshot wounds to his pelvis. Initially conscious and alert, his condition rapidly deteriorated, and he was transported to UPMC Mercy Hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead shortly before midnight.
