On the night of March 3, 2024, 27-year-old Sawee Kofa was fatally shot in Philadelphia's Oxford Circle neighborhood. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. after Kofa and the suspect exited SEPTA's Route 59 bus at the intersection of Castor Avenue and Comly Street. An argument ensued between the two men, during which the suspect produced a handgun and shot Kofa multiple times, striking him in the face and chest. Kofa was found deceased at the scene near Castor and Van Kirk streets.
