In the evening hours of March 13, 2024, a shooting incident on the 6800 block of Algon Avenue in Philadelphia prompted a police response at approximately 9:17 p.m. Upon their arrival, officers discovered 20-year-old Isaac Coleman suffering from a gunshot wound. He was a resident of Brighton Street in the city.
Medical personnel quickly transported Coleman to Jefferson-Einstein Hospital. Despite the efforts of the medical team, he was pronounced dead later that evening.
Investigators at the scene followed a trail of blood that stretched for a block, leading them to a basement apartment on the 6800 block of Algon Avenue. Evidence found within the apartment suggested that the shooting may have occurred there.
The investigation into Coleman's death progressed, and on April 16, 2024, authorities arrested a suspect in connection with the homicide.
