On the night of April 14, 2024, at approximately 11 p.m., 39-year-old Jefferson "Creek" Shackford was found fatally wounded near the intersection of City Avenue and Cardinal Avenue in Merion Station, Pennsylvania, close to Saint Joseph's University. Emergency responders discovered Shackford, who had been living unhoused in Northwest Philadelphia, suffering from gunshot wounds to his side and arm. He was transported to Lankenau Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
