On January 23, 2025, 69-year-old Gerald Pogzeba was fatally shot in his home in Banks Township, near Beaver Meadows, Pennsylvania. Authorities reported that the incident occurred when his neighbor, 25-year-old Dylan Eroh, fired a shotgun through the wall of his row home, striking Pogzeba. The Monroe County Coroner pronounced Pogzeba dead on Friday afternoon, and the death was ruled a homicide.
State police investigating the case discovered multiple holes in the wall of Eroh’s bathroom,
which provided a direct line of sight into Pogzeba’s residence. Eroh allegedly told police that he had been hearing voices and believed he had found a listening device in his home. He has been charged with homicide, aggravated assault, and other related offenses. Following his arraignment, Eroh was denied bail and remains in the Carbon County Correctional Facility.
