On May 18, 2024, in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania, 79-year-old Carol A. Hartung was tragically killed in a murder-suicide incident. Authorities reported that her husband, 78-year-old Harvey H. Hartung Jr., fatally shot Carol before taking his own life at their residence in North Whitehall Township. Both were pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 11 p.m.
