Carol Zimmerman, a 50-year-old woman from Shoemakersville, PA, tragically died on March 20, 2017. She was found shot to death in the backyard of her acquaintance, Charity Groff. The incident was later determined to be a murder-suicide. Zimmerman had sought help from Groff in the early hours of the morning, but Groff, following the advice of emergency dispatchers, did not open the door. Shortly after Groff called 911, Zimmerman was shot.
