In the early evening of Wednesday, May 29, 2024, chaos erupted on the 2600 block of Jackson Street in the Grays Ferry section of South Philadelphia. At approximately 5:38 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting and discovered 50-year-old Hamilton Wyche lying in the street, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body. The area was quickly cordoned off, with multiple bullet markers scattered across the pavement at 26th and Jackson streets.
