On May 29, 2024, at approximately 5:38 p.m., 50-year-old Hamilton Wyche was fatally shot on the 2600 block of Jackson Street in South Philadelphia. According to investigators, Wyche was walking along the street, engaged in a phone conversation, when an assailant exited a parked vehicle and opened fire multiple times. The shooter then fled westbound on Jackson Street in what appeared to be a 2004 Toyota sedan.
