In the evening hours of Saturday, June 1, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace on the 900 block of South 58th Street in Philadelphia. When the chaos subsided, four individuals were left wounded. Responding Philadelphia Police officers, arriving at the scene at 10:37 p.m., discovered two of the victims in the street, while two others had already been transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania – Cedar Avenue.
Among those gravely injured was 23-year-old Keion N.
Fisher, a Black male who resided on Ellsworth Street. Fisher had been struck by multiple bullets throughout his body. Despite the urgent medical attention he received upon arrival at the hospital, his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced deceased shortly after. The shooting also left a 20-year-old Black male with multiple gunshot wounds to his legs, a 20-year-old Black female shot in the leg, and another 20-year-old female wounded in her backside. All three were reported to be in stable condition.
The investigation into the shooting that claimed Keion Fisher's life remains active and ongoing. At this time, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects. The Philadelphia Police Department's Homicide Unit is handling the case, which is now considered an unsolved murder. Detectives are urging anyone who may have information about the incident to come forward. They emphasize that even the smallest detail could be the key to bringing those responsible for Fisher's death to justice. The police have made a public appeal for tips and have assured that anyone providing information can choose to remain anonymous.
