On a warm Saturday evening, June 1, 2024, the lively sounds of a basketball game at Fountain Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania, were shattered by gunfire. Angel Martinez-Velez, a 25-year-old male, was shot multiple times while on the court. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lehigh County Coroner's Office, who later ruled his death a homicide. He was remembered by loved ones as a great friend, brother, son, husband, and father.
