On July 13, 2024, 50-year-old Corey Comperatore of Sarver, Pennsylvania, attended a rally for former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, accompanied by his wife, Helen, and their daughters, Allyson and Kaylee. A retired fire chief of the Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company and a project and tooling engineer at a plastics manufacturer, Comperatore was known for his dedication to his family and community.
