On November 5, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Butler City Police responded to reports of a shooting on the 200 block of American Avenue in Butler, Pennsylvania. Upon arrival, officers found 47-year-old Christopher Waggett lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the chest. Bystanders were administering first aid before medical personnel took over. Waggett was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
