On March 10, 2023, at approximately 4:16 p.m., the Robeson County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 180 block of Doe Trail Road in Lumberton, North Carolina. The victim, 46-year-old Christopher M. Chavis, was transported to UNC Health Southeastern by a neighbor but succumbed to his injuries.
