Upon arrival, they found 18-year-old Deja Rae Reaves, a freshman at the university, suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
A second victim, a 20-year-old woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the same incident and was treated at a nearby hospital before being released. Investigators have indicated that neither Reaves nor the other victim were believed to be the intended targets of the shooting.
