On April 15, 2023, at approximately 10:26 p.m., the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating multiple gunshots in the 400 block of Brownrigg Street in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Upon arrival, officers discovered 59-year-old Aubrey Redding Jr. lying in the roadway, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to UNC Health Wayne for medical treatment but was later pronounced deceased.
