Abriana Ingram, a 21-year-old Black female from Milford, Delaware, was killed late on October 28, 2023, after a Halloween party in Selbyville spilled into violence. The gathering was taking place at a business in a strip mall at 36334 Dupont Boulevard when, according to police accounts, a fight broke out inside or around the event. Partygoers were asked to leave, but the conflict did not end there.
It moved outside into the parking lot, where the night quickly turned chaotic.
At about 11:56 p.m., Delaware State Police were called to the strip mall for a reported shooting. When troopers arrived, they saw several vehicles leaving the area and found numerous shell casings scattered in the parking lot, suggesting that multiple shots had been fired. Soon afterward, police learned that Abriana had been taken to a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead there.
Another woman, a 30-year-old from Seaford, was also shot during the same incident. She suffered a gunshot wound to an upper extremity and was treated and released from a nearby hospital. Police described the shooting as connected to the fight that continued after the Halloween party broke up, and said an unknown suspect displayed a handgun and began firing.
No named suspect, arrest, charge, trial, or conviction was publicly reported in the online sources reviewed.
