On May 7, 2023, at approximately 1:32 a.m., 27-year-old Ni'Reash Rayshaun Timmons was fatally shot during a drug transaction at a residence on the 1900 block of Palomino Drive in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Timmons, a resident of South Carolina, had traveled to the location to purchase narcotics. During the transaction, an altercation ensued between Timmons and 54-year-old Elmer Leon Spears of Fayetteville, culminating in Spears shooting Timmons.
