On the evening of June 22, 2023, at approximately 11:20 p.m., Reidsville police responded to reports of a shooting in the 200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 38-year-old Henry Mc Thaddon "HenRock" Hayes II deceased from gunshot wounds.
Henry Hayes II was a well-known resident of Reidsville, North Carolina. A native of Guilford County, he spent most of his life in Rockingham County.
He graduated from Reidsville High School, where he was recognized as an outstanding football player. Affectionately known as "HenRock," Hayes operated Backstreet Seafood & More and Still Rolling, and attended Bass Chapel United Methodist Church. He was admired for his kind-hearted nature and willingness to help others.
In the aftermath of Hayes's death, the Reidsville Police Department initiated a homicide investigation. Initially, a $2,000 reward was offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case. Subsequently, the Hayes family increased the reward by an additional $4,000, bringing the total to $10,000.
As of the latest available information, no arrests have been made in connection with Hayes's death. The Reidsville Police Department continues to seek assistance from the public.
