Felix Vanstory, a 39-year-old man from Browns Summit, was tragically shot and killed inside a vehicle on December 30, 2020, in Reidsville, North Carolina. When officers arrived at the scene on Graves Street and Moore Street, they found Vanstory and another man suffering from gunshot wounds. Vanstory was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The investigation into Vanstory's death led to the arrest of three suspects.
Tevion Flippen, an 18-year-old from Eden, turned himself in to the Rockingham County Sheriff's Department and was charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury. Two other suspects, both juveniles, were also arrested and charged with the same crimes. The names of the juvenile suspects were not released due to their age.
The case remains under investigation, and authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward. The community continues to mourn the loss of Felix Vanstory, whose life was cut short by this senseless act of violence.
