On the night of July 17, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Wilson Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting on the 500 block of Winstead Street in Wilson, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 36-year-old Victor Lenoir Dixon suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Emergency medical services transported Dixon to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, where he succumbed to his injuries.
