Edward Franklin Jackson, a 45 year old white man, was killed on March 23, 1975, in Honolulu, Hawaii, in a case that began with what sounded like an ordinary call for help and ended in sudden violence. That day, police were dispatched to Old Farrington Highway between Fort Weaver Road and Makakilo Drive for a reported motor-vehicle accident, only to discover that Jackson and another man, Francis Layne Labhart, were already dead, both bearing gunshot wounds.
