On the night of August 24, 2023, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Roxboro Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 300 block of Jones Street in Roxboro, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 52-year-old resident Mikelle Shawn Bailey deceased from a gunshot wound.

In the immediate aftermath, authorities arrested 35-year-old Christopher Street of Roxboro, charging him with first-degree murder. He was detained in the Person County Jail without bond. Additional ...
