On September 16, 2023, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Lexington Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at a residence on Tussey Street in Lexington, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 31-year-old Robert Grant deceased inside the home from gunshot wounds. Shortly thereafter, 41-year-old Britany Bethea arrived at a local hospital by private vehicle, also suffering from gunshot injuries; she later succumbed to her wounds.
