On October 19, 2023, at approximately 12:38 p.m., officers from the Goldsboro Police Department, along with deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, responded to a reported shooting at 401 North Best Street in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 51-year-old Kelvin Yvonne Coley inside the residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Coley was immediately transported to UNC Health Wayne, where he was later pronounced deceased.
