In the late afternoon of August 15, 2026, the life of 20-year-old Nasire Green was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire on a street in Goldsboro, North Carolina. The shooting, which also claimed the life of his friend, 20-year-old Tristen Mason, sent shockwaves through the community and launched a double homicide investigation. Emergency services responded to a report of two individuals shot at approximately 5:15 p.m. on the 600 block of West Oak Street.
Upon arrival, they found both Green and Mason with apparent gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, both young men were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Goldsboro Police Department's Investigative Services Bureau and Crime Scene Unit immediately began the task of piecing together the events that led to the brutal slayings. Their investigation quickly led them to a suspect, a 17-year-old male from Goldsboro whose name was not released due to his age. He faced the same charges as the juvenile suspect: two counts of murder and two counts of felony conspiracy. Following his arrest, Sessions had his first court appearance and was also given no bond.
