Jerome Lavelle Barnes Jr., a 17-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on August 8, 2015, in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Jerome was sitting in a parked car outside the Donel Express Mart convenience store at 518 E. Elm St. when he was shot multiple times. He was subsequently driven to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at approximately 7:30 p.m. that evening.
