On November 4, 2023, at approximately 12:44 a.m., Greensboro police responded to reports of a shooting in the 3000 block of Lawndale Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered 41-year-old Ivy Gray and her 22-year-old daughter, Kaile McLean, suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries, prompting a homicide investigation.
