On December 26, 2023, Larry Brown, a 24-year-old resident of Wilmington, North Carolina, was fatally shot in the early morning hours. The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. at 1930 Castle Hayne Road. Emergency responders transported Brown to Novant's New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
