Byron Alfonzo Funderburk Jr., a 31-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on December 14, 2018, in Wilmington, North Carolina. The incident occurred in the Hillcrest Housing Community on South 13th Street. Police responded to the scene just before 6 p.m. and found Funderburk Jr. with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
